1. About Simonvet

Simonvet (“the Platform”) is operated by Simonvet Inc. (“we”, “us”, “our”). The Platform is a software marketplace that connects pet owners with independently licensed veterinary clinics in the Province of Ontario, Canada. Simonvet does not provide veterinary medical services. All veterinary care, diagnoses, and prescriptions are provided by the clinics and their licensed veterinarians.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of Ontario, Canada to use the Platform. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate, current information during registration. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Bookings & Payments

When you book an appointment, you agree to pay the consultation fee displayed at the time of booking. All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes. Payment is processed by Stripe and is charged at the time of booking.

Cancellation policy: You may cancel a booked appointment more than 24 hours before the scheduled time for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment are not eligible for a refund. If a clinic cancels your appointment, you will always receive a full refund.

No-shows: If you do not attend your appointment, no refund will be issued.

5. Telehealth Consults

Online video consults are conducted through a third-party video provider (Daily.co). You are responsible for having a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone. The Platform is not responsible for technical issues on your end.

All telehealth services are subject to Ontario regulatory requirements, including the rules established by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO) regarding veterinary–client–patient relationships (VCPR).

6. Prescriptions

Prescriptions are issued at the sole discretion of the treating veterinarian. Controlled substances under Health Canada's Controlled Drugs and Substances Act cannot be prescribed through remote consultations on this Platform. This is a regulatory requirement, not a Platform limitation.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described therein, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

8. Platform Role & Liability

Simonvet is a software platform only. We do not employ veterinarians, operate clinics, or provide medical advice. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or outcomes of veterinary services provided by clinics using the Platform.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Simonvet's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the fees you paid through the Platform in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and software on the Platform are owned by Simonvet Inc. or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Platform without our written consent.

10. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
