Simonvet Is Software Only
Simonvet is a software platform that facilitates connections between pet owners and independently licensed veterinary clinics in Ontario, Canada. Simonvet does not provide veterinary medical services, diagnoses, or treatments.
Veterinary Services
All veterinary services, including consultations, examinations, diagnoses, and prescriptions, are provided by veterinarians who are independently licensed by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO) and practise at accredited facilities. Each veterinarian is solely responsible for the care they provide.
No Veterinary–Client–Patient Relationship with Simonvet
Using the Simonvet platform does not create a veterinary–client–patient relationship (VCPR) between you and Simonvet. Any VCPR is established directly between you and the veterinarian or clinic you engage through the Platform.
Telehealth Limitations
Veterinary telehealth has inherent limitations. A video consultation cannot replace a physical examination in all cases. Your veterinarian may determine that an in-person visit is required for proper diagnosis or treatment. In emergencies, always contact your nearest veterinary emergency clinic directly.
Controlled Substances
In accordance with Health Canada regulations and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, controlled substances cannot be prescribed through remote veterinary consultations on this Platform. This restriction is a regulatory requirement applicable to all telehealth providers.
Ontario Only
Simonvet operates exclusively in the Province of Ontario, Canada. All clinics on the Platform are accredited Ontario facilities, and all veterinarians hold active CVO registration. The Platform is not available to residents of other provinces or countries.
Payment & Fees
Consultation fees are set by each clinic independently. Simonvet facilitates payment processing through Stripe but does not determine pricing. All fees are displayed before booking and are charged in Canadian dollars (CAD).
No Guarantee of Outcomes
Simonvet makes no guarantees regarding the outcome of any veterinary consultation, treatment, or prescription. Veterinary medicine involves inherent uncertainty, and outcomes depend on many factors beyond the Platform's control.
Liability
Simonvet is not liable for any damages arising from veterinary services provided through the Platform. Our role is limited to providing the software infrastructure for bookings, payments, video calls, and prescription management. For complaints about veterinary care, contact the clinic directly or file a complaint with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario.
